Woodwind Primer Workshops
The U of T Music Woodwinds Area presents two Audition Primer Workshops intended for secondary school students to help prepare for university auditions.
These workshops will include a presentation on tips, tricks, and best practices to prepare for a university music program audition, including for the musicianship component of the audition, and the theory entrance exam. Participants will also have the opportunity to perform repertoire that they are working on with a professional collaborative pianist, and to receive coaching and written feedback from a U of T Music Woodwinds professor.
In the November session, participants have the option of performing short selections of their repertoire (for example: a study, or a movement of a larger work).
In the January session, participants have the option of performing a half or a full Mock Audition. (Going through the motions of what you do in an audition - before the real thing - is excellent preparation!)
