Performance Office DMA

Applied Lessons

MUS4844/MU4845

DMA Students receive a total of 48 lessons over their degree. Grades are collected after every set of 12 lessons.

Recital Information for DMAs

Specific Recital Requirements by Type and Instrument can be found on the Performance Office's SharePoint page.

Students should complete the DMA Recital Booking online form to begin the process of scheduling a recital. Please note there is no availability from early March to mid-May. If you do not use one of our regular venues, all related expenses (rental, staff, cartage of equipment, tuning, recording services, etc.) will be the responsibility of the student.

Questions about repertoire selection should be brought to the Area Head. When permissions of the Area Head are required, approval must be submitted in writing to the Performance Office.

Promoting Inclusive Representation in Music Performances

The Faculty of Music is committed to the inclusion of under-represented composers in performances by faculty and students and expects to see this meaningfully reflected in program content of juries and recitals at all levels.

Students demonstrating exceptional achievement in programming may be nominated for special performance opportunities in the subsequent academic year.

Jazz and jazz related repertoire should reflect the diverse nature of the history of the music with attention to works by women and Black American performers and composers, who have been influential in the development of the music while enduring bias and systemic racism.
