This month, Dean Ellie Hisama worked with graduate students at the Butler School of Music. Dean Hisama’s work with the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) has also resulted in the recent English- and German-language publication of “Whose Voices?: Acts of Inclusion in Music / Wessen Stimmen?: Musikalische Akte der Inklusion” in In Hidden Heartache, a collection of writings accompanying a double CD by pianist Simone Keller featuring music of Jessie Cox, Julia Perry, Julius Eastman, Ruth Crawford Seeger, Irene Higginbotham, et al.
